Skylight Theatre began life as a Leyland Tiger passenger coach.  It then earned its keep as a classic car transporter and now, in the hands of Katharine Kavanagh, is being converted into a touring theatre space, able to visit town squares, car-parks and green spaces, utilising traditional forms of traveling British variety theatre, including puppetry, song and live music, to share stories with communities through a contemporary frame.

The first public appearance of Skylight Theatre was seen at  mac Birmingham in 2011, with an extract of performance in development ‘The Jam Wagon’ presented as part of First Bite Festival.

In 2012 we are pleased to be teaming up with River Productions to tour Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ and new children’s show ‘Revlon Scarlet Rescues the Crown Jewels’, both set in 1952 in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee.
